In the spring of 1,973, agreeing with the restoration with the restoration of the streets and diverse zones of the Old Helmet of Pals, two neighbors of this population maintain a conversation on the state of the works that are made, and of the final result of these, auguring an avalanche of visitors to know and to enjoy this wonderful surroundings.

 

These two people are, the then mayor of Pals, D.Pere Serviŕ and my father-in-law D.Josep Sicars first it proposes to the second, that in a warehouse for agricultural products, located under the house and with door to the Placeta d'en Bou fishing it initiates a bar business to take care of the amount of visitors who were expected.

 

 

 

Thus, in the month of June of that same year the bar is opened, four refreshments and some covers were served in local reducing, and the few tables located in the placeta.

 

Taking advantage of the culinaria experience the grandmother Rosita (Dńa.Rosa Martí), which had been tanned in preparation of celebrations in particular houses, weddings, baptisms, etc.

And hoping to take care of the ascending demand of restoration in this zone of the town, they decide, and thus they initiate it, to create the dining room and to give meals in the months with adapted temperature, in the outside. With a small letter done of totally artisan and traditional plates of the zone, with products of my orchards and our corrals and with a love and a patience that equip plates with the homemade taste that as much is desired.

 

From the first moment, this great cook, is helped by her daughter-in-law, Dńa. Elena Ferragut that learns of her and contributes to plates and ideas that let grow the letter and the pleasure of the clients. With the years its daughter Dńa.Rosa Maria Sicars it takes the relief, always of the hand of his mother, and with new ideas and changing with the times and the taste of the clients it arrives at the present time.

 

 

The premises remain small, and thus last the years my father-in-law opposite acquires the located property right of the old restaurant, creating the one new, most extensive one with better conditions for the clients.

 

This he opens his doors in March of 1.985.

 

In this new premises we continued taking care of our clients, of who many already they are friends (after 20 years of fidelity, it is normal ). Knowing new and remembering with old the other times, some celebrations and many anecdotes.

 

In short, this is summarized the small great history of the Pedró (whose name comes from the viewpoint located after the Church, today call Josep Pla three generations dedicated to the restoration, and to try to leave a pleasing memory of Pals, its kitchen and its people.
